High-performance M TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine.
The latest version of the high-performance M TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine guarantees performance in keeping with the latest standards. The high-revving unit develops an output of 460 kW (625 hp). The two turbochargers stand out thanks to their cross-cylinder bank exhaust manifold with optimum response characteristics. The V8 engine is also designed for extreme loads on the race track.
Adaptive M suspension.
The Adaptive M suspension makes it possible to adjust the damper characteristics to suit any given driving situation, increasing driving dynamics and comfort. In addition to the standard COMFORT setting for increased driving comfort, the SPORT programme offers firmer damper settings, and with SPORT+, the vehicle can be used on the race track.
M xDrive.
BMW M xDrive with Active M differential guarantees maximum traction and driving dynamics for everyday driving, as well as at the racetrack. The M specific technology combines the typical agility of a rear-wheel drive with the control of an all-wheel drive. You can choose between the drive variants 4WD, 4WD Sport and – in DSC-off mode – 2WD.
8-speed M Steptronic transmission.
The 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic offers numerous shifting options: from extremely dynamic to particularly comfortable, and smooth to fuel-saving. You can shift manually using the gear lever or the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or put the vehicle into automatic mode and let the transmission do the work.
M Carbon ceramic brake.
With the optional M Carbon ceramic brake, the use of braking power is even more direct, it is corrosion-free, even more heat-resistant, greatly reduced in wear and contributes to weight savings, which has a positive effect on agility, dynamics and acceleration. The special technical equipment is visible through calipers in the colour gold matt with M lettering on the outside. Due to specific material properties, increased operating noise may occur during braking, e.g. in case of prolonged, low load or in wet conditions shortly before vehicle standstill. The design-related noise can be avoided by braking the brake dry in case of wetness or loading the brake more heavily after a long low braking load. The influence of wetness and road salt cause brake effectiveness to correspond to that of a conventional brake system. This reduced braking power can be compensated for with a greater pressure on the pedal. The functional noises have no influence on the performance, operational safety and stability of the brake.
M MODE.
Use the M MODE button on the centre console to adjust the control intensity of the driver assistance systems. The ROAD mode offers the full range of functions of the electronic assistants. In the SPORT setting, they only warn but do not intervene. With TRACK, you can completely deactivate the assistance systems, e.g. on the race track. Depending on the selected mode, the display network also shows the corresponding driving information.
Configurable M brake.
Integrated braking system with precise pedal feel and M specific configurability. The new system brings together the brake activation, brake booster and braking control functions within a compact module. It also presents the driver with two pedal feel settings – COMFORT and SPORT modes alter the amount of pressure on the brake pedal required to slow the car.
M Sport exhaust system.
The M Sport exhaust system delivers a dynamic sound that can be modified via the integrated exhaust valve mechanism. The SPORT and SPORT+ programmes, which can be selected via the Driving dynamics buttons, are accentuated by an even more intense engine sound, while the comfort-oriented programme prioritises more discreet engine acoustics.

The black front kidney grille with frame in Black Chrome and M8 emblem in Black high-gloss underlines the further enhanced sporty character of your vehicle.
Mirror caps in black.
The Black high-gloss mirror caps give the M8 Competition a particularly sporty character. With the optional M Carbon exterior package, the mirror caps are finished in carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP).
M side gills in Black.
The M side gills in the front wings are designed in Black, the integrated inlay with M8 emblem in Black Chrome. With the optional M Carbon exterior package, carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used.
20" M light alloy wheels 811 M Bicolour.
20" M light alloy wheels Star-spoke style 811 M Bicolour Jet Black with mixed tyres, gloss-milled, front 9.5J x 20 with 275/35 R20 tyres, rear 10.5J x 20 with 285/35 R20 tyres.
M rear spoiler.

The centre console is equipped with a Competition Badge, which emphasises the sporty atmosphere in the interior and points to the driving dynamics qualities of the vehicle.
M seat belts.
The M seat belts, with belt tensioner and belt force limiter, boast an exquisite woven highlight in the classic M colours and emphasise the extremely high-quality and sporty ambience in the interior.
Entry sill with M8 Competition designation.
You and your front passenger are greeted by door sill finishers with the M8 Competition designation as soon as you get in. The designation on the inserts in Black in the door sill finishers in the front on the left and right radiates quality and exclusivity.
M gear selector.
The M gear selector in a new design features an M specific switch pattern and excellent operability. In manual "S" mode, the driver can shift gears manually using the selector lever or the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel in typical M fashion; in "D" mode, shifting occurs automatically. The Drivelogic switch for the three shifting programmes and the P button for the parking lock are placed under the M logo.
M specific instrument cluster.
The M specific instrument cluster allows you to display additional information for particularly sporty driving. If you have selected the TRACK driving mode for race track use, you can view the boost pressure, tyre pressures and temperatures as well as the G-force of lateral and longitudinal acceleration on the instrument cluster.

Panorama glass roof.
When opened, the electric Panorama glass roof with slide and lift functions provides ample fresh air, while it creates a bright, light-flooded atmosphere in the interior when closed. You open and close it at the touch of a button or with the vehicle key. It is equipped with a roller sunblind and a wind deflector. It also provides a continuous glass look from front to rear window.
M Carbon exterior package.
The M Carbon exterior package underlines the athletic demands of the vehicle. Side spoiler elements in the front bumper, one blade in the middle of the air intake grille, exterior mirror caps and a one-piece carbon fibre trim around the tailpipe finishers are made of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). The package is rounded off by a diffuser insert at the rear in specific geometry.
M Aerodynamics package.
The M Aerodynamics package underlines the vehicle's athleticism and modifies its airflow. This includes a front apron with larger air inlets, unique side skirts and a rear apron with a diffuser insert in Dark Shadow metallic.

The BMW Individual fine-grain full 'Merino' leather upholstery is available in a range of aesthetic colour shades and combinations. The exclusive quality of the leather impresses – satisfying the most discerning demands. Extensive top-quality hides are used without exception and processed to yield a superfine, stable natural leather without any artificial embossing or surface coating. The leather is especially voluminous, soft and breathable and is exquisitely embellished by exclusive decorative seams and refined stitching.
M leather steering wheel.
The M Leather steering wheel including multifunction and M emblem features the sporty three-spoke design. The steering wheel rim in leather 'Walknappa' Black with contoured thumb rests provides a direct, athletic steering experience.
M TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine.
The M TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine combines two turbochargers with Valvetronic fully variable valve control and the direct petrol injection High-Precision Injection. Its peak output is 390 kW (530 hp) with a maximum torque of 750 Nm. The two turbochargers are compactly positioned between the cylinder banks.
Adaptive M suspension Professional.
The Adaptive M suspension Professional adds active roll stabilisation to the Adaptive M suspension and Integral Active Steering. The result: the ultimate in driving stability and dynamics.
M sport differential.
The M sport differential optimises traction and driving stability when changing lanes or accelerating out of a bend, when taking bends at high speeds or on different road surfaces. Traction is optimised with the help of an electronically operated device that reduces the difference in revolution speed between the rear wheels.
M Sport brake.
The M Sport brake has four-piston fixed callipers at the front and single-piston floating callipers at the rear in blue with the M designation and features large brake discs to ensure an outstanding braking performance.
Sports exhaust system.
The standard Sports exhaust system offers a powerful and sporty sound that can be adapted to the driving situation and the driver’s wishes. This makes the ride an emotional hearing experience, especially during sporty riding.
BMW xDrive.

BMW Live Cockpit Professional.
The BMW Live Cockpit Professional with navigation function includes a digital display network consisting of a high-resolution 10.25" Control Display that can be operated by touch, a 12.3" instrument display and an M specific Head-Up Display.
